Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
Merchants in Restricted Merchant Categories require Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for approval. EDD includes the information listed below, which must be submitted to underwriting by completing the Merchant Approval Guide
1 Business and Processing Analysis
Complete, sign, and submit the attached Business and Processing Analysis Form.
2 Proof of Ownership of the Business
To validate the ownership information provided, please submit a document that reflects the current ownership structure. For example:
Certificate of Formation or Incorporation (with shareholder/member list)
Operating Agreement or Partnership Agreement
Company Bylaws or Articles of Incorporation (with owner information)
Shareholder Register or Equity Ledger
Stock Certificates
Legal Opinion Letter verifying ownership
Other relevant documentation
3 Credit Report
Obtain a copy of the credit report from an external provider and submit it to us. GivePayments does not perform credit checks on behalf of merchants.
If the business does not have a credit history, the principal’s personal credit report can be submitted instead.
Please note: This has no impact on your credit score, as we do not perform hard searches.
4 Voided Check / Bank Letter
Submit a voided check or an official bank letter. It must include the business name.
5 Three Months of Previous Processing Statements
Submit monthly processing statements for the most recent three-month period. These statements should clearly display daily transaction volumes, chargebacks, refunds, and processing fees, and must be complete and legible.
If fewer than three months of statements are available (e.g., if the business recently started operations), please provide a brief written explanation.
6 Three Months of Business Bank Statements
Submit monthly business bank statements for the most recent three-month period. These must reflect all account activity for the applying business entity, including deposits, withdrawals, daily balances, and account holder information. The account name must match the business name on your application.
If fewer than three months of statements are available (e.g., if the business account was recently established), please provide a brief written explanation.
